Math and urine 16 Sep 2009 I just had to bring this blag post by Randall Munroe on the mathematics of the right choice of urinal to use in mens rooms to your attention. How can one not like a post that describes the ICUP (International Choice of Urinal Protocol) thus: Humor Social evolution
Humor Carlin on the state of the US 25 Jun 2008 Here’s a somewhat different take on the late great George Carlin, in an interview with Keith Olberman last year: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UVXj8F9Fmk&hl=en] For me, though, he’ll always be the hip Catholic Archbishop who brings about the end of the world in Dogma. If n = 1, you simply stipulate that it occupies one stall at random. On second thoughts, there are separate rules for the choice of stall that have to do with the location of the door. One should choose the nearest end stall for ease of getting out and of access to the handwashing facilities. It also lessens your chance of being crowded on one side. For sitting, one should choose the middle stall, as it will tend to be less used and therefore less unpleasant. Otherwise, the same rule applies as the ICUP (where the “P” now stands for something else). Maybe I’ve overthought this…
I’ve read that the first one is the least used. Maybe that’s only in facilities for women, although I don’t why that would be so. Possibly I did not read that and it is a false memory.
There is a much simpler solution that requires no maths; don’t use urinals! Piss on a tree like nature intended!
