Admin: May be off line for a week 13 Feb 2011 So I am trying to transfer my blog and domain name to a new host, and am about to be without internet for a week, as I move into a new flat. These two facts may interfere with a good outcome. If things go well, you won’t notice. But things never go well, especially since there is no easy guide to this process online anywhere I can find, so I am in the dark. I have paid a couple of hundred dollars to achieve this, leaving me about $80 in the hole after previous donations are used up (thanks especially to Andrea!). If anyone can spare a buck or two that would help me. I paid for four years’ hosting, so costs will drop a fair bit once done. If things go spare, then you won’t even be able to play Mornington Crescent. I suggest you write the moves on a piece of paper and type them in when I come back online. Administrative Administrative
Administrative Off to the wilds of Oxfordshire 14 May 2010 So, tomorrow I fly to Oxford (well, to Heathrow, and bus to Oxford) to this conference on religion and toleration. It includes such luminaries as Amartya… Read More

My username is john_s_wilkins, because I’m really, really unimaginative. I still don’t know what it’s all about, but I will learn. * I knew that… Read More
Hurry back. I’ve taken to posting on John Pieret’s blog for my dose of anti-gnu gadfly snark and thinking from a different point of view. Your lack of posting means I have to go elsewhere for my hit. I should check out Thorny’s blog too, he can be quite snarky and informative. Perhaps I’ve got issues? I’d love to toss some coin your way, but am a bit skint for the moment. Can’t even afford my weekly ration of amber fluid just now.
