1. You only asked for positive results but, as in science, it is sometimes good to know about negative results also. I only see the normal page without any error message.

   1. I now think it is a problem with the reader’s own connection. But it’s worth knowing, thanks.

   2. Of course, you get no points for publishing a negative result.

2. On my iMac with Firefox I see this and have done so for about two weeks or maybe even more. Had been meaning to inform you but didn’t get round to it, sorry.
   On my Macbook with Safari it doesn’t appear. Hope this helps!

   Do I get points? Are they cashable?

   I have a Notebook PC, for what it’s worth. No sarky comments from Mac users please.

4. It just appeared and then disappeared on my Macbook!!? It doesn’t disappear on my iMac.

5. I get it on your home page, but not on other pages. Mac and Safari 5.0.2.

10. Mac mini/OS 10.6.7/Safari: Saw it the first time the page loaded, but not on refresh. I didn’t see it when I loaded the page in Firefox, but that was right after the Safari experiment…

11. …Although the banner disappears after refresh (in Safari) — I still get the links (About/Categories/Evolution/etc.) but no picture. No such problems in Firefox.

12. On my PC with Internet Explorer (I know, I know) I haven’t seen it at all.

13. I’m using Opera on a PC. Haven’t seen it at all, although there have been a couple of occasions recently when I couldn’t get in at all.

14. Mac- Safari: no problem here.

15. I see it. Using Chrome Dev on Windows 7. Disappears on reload.

16. Hey, I get it too for a moment, but then it goes away. Happens both on iPad and latest chrome for Mac. On a variety of internet connections.

17. I got it when I first loaded the page (MacBook Air, OS 10.5.8; browser that no one else is likely to be using: iCab 4.8.0) but when I scrolled up to read it again it had disappeared.

18. PC, latest Firefox, Windows XP: no problems.

19. PC, Vista, latest Firefox, I do have that stuff at the top every time I visit.

20. I got that initially, but it went away when I reloaded the page. Firefox 3.5 on WinXP.

21. I got it earlier, but it went away a few days ago when I updated to the latest version of Firefox.

22. Negative. Although I reported some of the visible links (file_get_contents()) on 30/05, it’s been over a week that I haven’t seen them, and there aren’t any other stray links or messages showing up at the moment.

    Mac OS X 10.6.7, Safari 5.0.5 with JavaScript Blacklist, AdBlock, ClickToFlash (all up-to-date).

25. I use IE7 on my work computer – and I get the error message.

26. I think I tracked it down to a plugin, which I have disabled. I’d like to hear if it persists, though.
