Testing… is this thing on? *tap, tap* 22 Mar 2011 Can you all hear me? Up the back? Just testing to see if the new host is working. We have some unfinished trimmings, like the blogroll, but if you can see this, put a comment below. If you can’t, don’t. Administrative
Administrative Hi. I’m John, and I Tweet 22 Sep 2009 Yeah, I know, I’m a follower, not a leader these days*. You note that I have given into the Twitterpated Tsunami, in the side bar. My username is john_s_wilkins, because I’m really, really unimaginative. I still don’t know what it’s all about, but I will learn. * I knew that… Read More
Administrative Travel and stuff 30 Jul 20074 Oct 2017 So the ISHPSSB Conference is done, and here I sit in the University of Exeter Library getting some internetting done for the first time in a week. Great conference. I got to meet Scibling John Lynch and his colleagues and drink much beer of various UK kinds. I got to… Read More
Administrative Feedback now has to be authenticated 2 Jun 2008 The snivelling little boy, Mats Envall, who thinks that walking into someone’s living room and pissing on the floor is acceptable behaviour, has forced me to make comments require my manual authentication. I am sorry for the rest of you, but we are up to 122 spams from the idiot…. Read More
PS: I’m pleased that you are posting again; however, this site is very busy. The peachy pink rectangles with the little boxes for submit and save and the boxes to the left of the post, arranged in flowchart style, that say “O”, “Tweet” and “share” are distracting.
Rats! I had to type in my information to post. Oh, I see why. The comments page shows as being “cx124.justhost.com” rather than as “evolvingthoughts.net”. Presumably links to specific posts will also show “cx124.justhost.com”.
OK, can anyone suggest a better social networking widget/plugin? I’ll chase up the URL thing. It involves Black Magic and Goat Sacrifices.
You’re back! Cool, I’m off to the bottle shop to get sozzled and then type another unedifying rant here. You’ve been warned!
Yep, everything seems to be online over here. One slight thing: your category dropdown menu in the right sidebar seems to be a bit too wide. Not sure if that can be adjusted though…
It is looking good. I’m glad that the link problem seems to be sorted out. On DNS, I am still getting some wordpress IPs: 74.200.243.251, 76.74.255.123, 76.74.254.123, 72.233.2.59, 74.200.243.253, 72.233.2.58. In case it isn’t clear, those are the IP addresses that I am seeing. They all have a 5 minute timeout. Okay, I see what is going on. Some of the DNS servers of my ISP still have the wordpress names servers listed as the source of information. It looks as if that should all time out in less than one day. Until then, things might be erratic.
There has *got* to be a better way to manage domain names and IPs! This is so totally baroque and opaque and other words ending in -que. WordPress.com reverted my DNS listing. I locked it, so one hopes that will prevent it happening again. Got to renew that soon, too.
I’m a Gnu, I’m a Gnu The g-nicest work of g-nature in the zoo I’m a Gnu, How do you do You really ought to k-now w-ho’s w-ho’s I’m a Gnu, Spelt G-N-U I’m g-not a Camel or a Kangaroo So let me introduce, I’m g-neither man nor moose Oh g-no g-no g-no I’m a Gnu…. … oh, you’re back again. Sorry about that. Just reciting the Gnucene Creed. Don’t mind me. Carry on…
Man, I cleared my cache on Firefox. Old site. Cleared my cache on Midori. Old site. Cleared my cache on Opera. Old site. Almost gave up. Now I found it wasn’t my fault I couldn’t find this site.
None of the tag links seem to work. I tried several of the links listed under “Agnosticism, Atheism and Definition” and always got “Page not found.” Are all those pages gone now?
