So for the next week or so I will be either in New Zealand at a conference or moving to Queensland. I cannot say how much internet I will have at my disposal in that time, so the best I can do is follow the example of Granny Weatherwax:

    Ah, from the sublime to the ridiculous… (I won’t say which is which). Good luck with all that. Even the Gold Coast seems attractive from the depths of freezing Berkeley right now.

    Is this sort of a Schroedinger’s Cat puzzle? Is this some sort of weird Australian seasonal superposition? Tune in next week, when Dr. John Wilkins will either be writing his latest book… or not… or possibly even both!!!!

      As is usual in these cases, I either know where I am or how fast I am going, so I know that I am in Palmerston North, New Zealand, ergo I have no discernible velocity. This may be due to last night’s drinking session.
