I abandoned the Christian faith years ago, but this piece still sends chills up my spine. It still makes me want to jump up and sing “Hallelujah!” with the chorus. It’s easy enough to understand why many people think the emotions inspired imply something beyond the merely temporal. But there’s no compelling reason to interpret things that way. Indeed, there are more plausible reasons not to.
I know these are probably just some people having fun (high school students according to YouTube), but it would be so much more awesome if it were actual monks with a sense of humor.
